Re: ProxyMagic Deck Editor and Proxy Generator v0.1

i can get it to crash by adding a card to the deck, then trying to save the deck.  it crashes when i click save in the save dialog.

im running it on windows xp.

does it use .net?  what os did you develop it on?

Re: ProxyMagic Deck Editor and Proxy Generator v0.1

I have it crash when i do the following.

If I open the program.  Then go to import and select a mws file.  when I hit open it then crashes.

Once I add a deck and then close deck editor and try to save it immedeatly crashes upon selecting save.  it does save a file with no information and 0kb.

Vista 64, which I just realized might be causing some rather horrible problems if it's trying to run in 64 bit.  Hmm.

Thanks for the details guys, now that I know that people are actually interested I'll try and get some fixes going. :)

Re: ProxyMagic Deck Editor and Proxy Generator v0.1

I checked and it's compiling with a 32 bit target, but I toyed with some other linker settings to try and make it more compatible.

See if that works for you guys.  Sorry for the trouble, it's hard to debug something that doesn't happen on my machine. D:

    o.O

The hell?  There is no install for it.  Hmm.

For the other crashes before whenever you open/save or whatever, what's the exact error it shows when it crashes?

Re: ProxyMagic Deck Editor and Proxy Generator v0.1

Let me clarify my problem.  I unzipped the files into a new folder and opened the program.  Now, from there I have no idea what to do next.
And I don't see any WoW files for MWS either (going to d/l the software eventually).

Ah!  Just run the .exe and you're up and running, there's no install needed.  Click on the Edit Deck button on the far right to make a deck, and from there it should be somewhat self explanatory.  If you add any proxies, file->print proxies will print them out.

I'll put together a help file eventually, but for now I need to figure out why it's crashing on other people's comps. -.-

Re: ProxyMagic Deck Editor and Proxy Generator v0.1

I downloaded the new file and i get this message when I run it.  I put it into the folder with version 3 and tried to run from there.

    Error message:

    c:\...\pm_v0.35_test.exe

This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem.

The files I have in the directory are:

    Folders:

    Data
    Images

    files:
    ProxyMagic.exe
    pm_v0.35_test.exe

Moala.dek (only deck file i ever got to work/save/not crash)

Thanks for the detailed report.  I guess my new linker settings just made it worse, I'll revert that and try a new approach.

fkasjdf it's frustrating not having the same problems on the comp I'm making it on. >.<

I'll fiddle with it tomorrow, have to run for now.

    (edit)

And wait, Moala works?  Is there anything different from the decks that crash that you can pick up on?

Also, for 0.3, when it crashes when you try to save, what's the error message that pops up?

Re: ProxyMagic Deck Editor and Proxy Generator v0.1

ProxyMagic Deck Editor has encountered a problem and needs to close.  We are sorry for the inconvenience.

then the normal send error report stuff.

I misspoke earlier...  Moala doesnt work but I do have the first file i used who was a Kurzon.dek   And it still opens/closes/prints.

I cant get anything else to work.

Re: ProxyMagic Deck Editor and Proxy Generator v0.1

I actually got the program to work.  I went in and made all of my current decks using the deck editor.
    A few things I've noticed:
A couple of cards I typed in do not have images.  They are: Tim (the mage who exhausts to deal 1 fire damage to someone. this one isnt even in the database) and The Perfect Stout (no image).

other than that, everything works fine for me on XP.

    All right, let's try this.

    http://files.filefront.com/ProxyMagic+v+0+4zip/;11198446;/fileinfo.html

Totally redid saving/opening.  Let me know if this works for you guys.  Unfortunately also tweaked a few data/images, so have to redownload.  Should fix Stout and Tim, though.

Thanks again for all the reports, hopefully I can make this not fail hardcore on any computer other than my own.

Re: ProxyMagic Deck Editor and Proxy Generator v0.1

i now receive this error when executing the new ProxyMagic.exe:

"This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect.  Reinstalling the application may fix this problem."

I also received this error on the single .exe fix you posted a few posts up, but did not receive it with the original .3 .exe.

    I'm gonna strangle something.

Thank you for the report.  I must've flipped a switch somewhere that I shouldn't have.  Ugh.
