For me.. kind of, yeah.  I play/try to make decks that work with Victoria because I like the badass lady vibe her art gives off, and come on.. if I could, I'd totally be an arms warrior for a living.

But, I think you may be asking more about avatars in general than a relation to the card game characters, so I'm not sure how much my input will help. 

(Perhaps people want people who can't see them to understand who they are on some deep level, and the easiest way to do that is through visual representation.  But it varies from one inidivual to the next, I'm sure, as some are apathetic about their avatars while others probably put a lot of thought into it.)

Hey, I know the OP is long gone......to bad I'd like to see the dissertation.  Two things.

Where is your avatar?  What does that say about you?  That you are an uninvolved observer?  Have you ever played D&D?  The thief usually steals in real life.  The Pallys and Priests go to church alot.  And the magic users have a lust for power.  (the fighters really are dumb).

There was this guy here(on the forums) with the same avatar as me.  He switched names and avatars alot and I could always tell when it was him.  Unconscious clues are much better tells Imo.  Psycho-motivations come in distinct varieties that when found in unusual combinations can be almost unique amongst say ten thousand people.

Practically all of that paragraph is utterly wrong. I play rogue in DnD and have never stolen anything (worth a damn) in my entire life. Our groups cleric doesn't go to church AFAIK and our wizard is just plain wierd. Our fighter is dumb though.

What is your rogue's alignment?  What power does your groups cleric worship?  What does AFAIK mean?

I played pally and mage in game. I am not anywhere remotly close to a churchie. I play Mage and I do value knowledge, but I am not going to conjure ice or fire as much as it would be cool. I play a warrior too but I would like to say I am pretty intellegent. lol I dunno. Interesting Assessment.
