What is the regular number of ABC's you have in a game?

I usually play with 2 for each mini, but I've read quite a few posts on here saying they played with 3 for each.

When you are building your party you select a number of ABCs equal to 3 times the number of minis you have. So, for a normal party of 3, you would select 9 Action Bar Cards.

When the match starts, you first present the minis that you are using and their character cards to your opponent. Then, after you know the characters that your opponent is using, you select 2 ABCs for each mini from your larger pool and those are the ones you play with.

Or you can play with as many as you wish..  That's just the rules for a tournament.

So if I had 3 people in my party, I would choose 9 ABC's, and divided up equally, each mini would get 3 cards, right?

According to the tournament policy, you would choose 9 ABCs for your party as a whole, but would only play with 6 in each game.

The reason you have more overall is that you can make your party more flexible by swapping out ABCs depending on your current matchup.

You don't necessarily have to divide them equally. For instance, in my Ogre warband I play:

    2x Boulderfist Warrior
    1x Crushridge Ogre

    Warrior cards:
    1x Mortal Strike
    2x Execute
    1x Charge
    1x Intervene
    1x Cleave

    Shaman cards:
    1x Grounding Totem
    1x Stoneclaw Totem
    1x Strength of Earth Totem

With the tournament rules as they stand, I can divide my Warrior cards as I please between the two, the only restriction being of course that I can't run 2x Execute on the same Warrior. The cards are not assigned, 3 a piece, to a particular Boulderfist Warrior. This gives me more options.

Do you do the same ABCs on the next round or choose new ones? Or is there just one round o.O sorry no tournys here in SC but I like to be prepared.

Necronomicon in hand, you have resurrected this ghoul of a thread.  You choose new ABCs each round after each player reveals what characters they are playing with.  So, not only can you change each round, but you can change in response to knowing what characters your opponent is playing.

Talk about blast from the past...

Ah, days of yore, when we thought monsters besides Vashj were playable. ;)

Yes round as in opponent, but I'm thinking best 2/3 as I am used to CCG tournaments. I'm assuming its just win/lose per opponent in a WoW Mini tourny, hence the misuse of 'round'.

Yeah, every match is just one game, unlike TCG which is two out of three. Funny part is that most people think the rounds are too short even for just one game.

Re: What is the regular number of ABC's you have in a game?

    When I play 5 on 5 two-board games, I use 3-4 ABC's per character.

    When I dual 1v1 or 2v2, I use 5 ABC's per character.

I love having more options and I like how the game doesn't fall apart when you DO add more cards.
