Now you've gone and made me do it. Due to a request, I will try tackling the cackling imp Grimdron. I make absolutly no promises that any of this is even remotely playable, even against small children. There are a couple of things to consider here. Grimdron has THE lowest honor cost in the game, so far. At three honor, a single kill makes up for the honor cost, and then some. He, or it if you prefer, (I wonder if demons are gender bound) has correspondingly low stats. Basically you replace a member of your team with a pet that rewards VPs for dying, its stats are so low. Blood Pact does not stack, so the only minis that bebefit from multiple Grimdrons are the Grimdrons themselves. It is a demon, so it can use some debuffs. In that respect it is almost like a junior Marlowe Christopher, with half the health, attack, and damage dealt by debuffs. But at 2 kills and 1 VP, that may be enough, provided locks aren't in your local meta, forcing everyone to pack debuff removal.
Team 1 - How low can you go?, 9 Honor
Grimdron x3
-Curse of Culuthas x3
-Demonic Curse x2
-Dark Portal
-Fog of War x3
Your guys are going to die. Count on it. The nice thing is that they each get a 25% increase in health, but that will not be enough to keep them alive. That's ok as long as their guys die too. DOT, then run. If anything gets close to dying, kamakazi it. You only need 2 kills.
So what is Blood Pact really good for? I asked myself that, and besides the obvious, one particular thought stuck in my head. Tanks. Your gonna need a really good one to keep Grimdron from being farmed. The best for the monster faction is the Deathwhisperer, again, so far. It is capable of using any equipment, i.e. Bulwark, which so far isn't really abusable. We can only hope. Nevertheless, with Blood Pact, Deathwhisperer has 10 health, which is pretty darn good. The low honor cost of the imp helps offset the cost of the equipment. Add some phat damage dealer and you are in business. My preference here is Kael'Thas. Shock Barrier effectively gives the tank an extra armor and resist.
Team 2 - Monster Wall, 22 Honor
Prince Kael'Thas Sunstrider
-Kael'Thas' Flamestrike
-Flamestrike
-Mana Potion
-Spellsteal
Deathwhisperer
-Bulwark of Azzinoth
-Signet of Eternal Life
Grimdron
-Demonic Curse
-DarkPortal
-Silk Bandage
The final team being featured does not actually have Grimdron, although it did help inspire the build. Instead it packs Piztog, who does the same thing, just better, being nearly indestructible. The trick in this bag of treats is hilarious. I doubt anyone will let you get it off more than once though.
Team 3 - Halloween came early this year, 24 Honor
Bleakheart Hellcaller x2
-Santuria
-Piztog
-Death Coil x2
-Shadowburn X2
-Hellfire
Deathwhisperer
-Soulseeker
-Demon's Last Stand
So this one works like this: Work it with the Hellcallers, try to bunch up the opposing minis with Death Coil, tick them up, then run in with Deathwhisperer and nuke 'em with the Last Stand. 10 dice with a reroll and kill anything with 2 or less health still standing, provided you crit of course. Take that Velen Wall!
Enjoy until the next article in 2 weeks. Going on vacation. What else do you want to see? I might do Hellfire next, we will see.
Sarcastic remarks should come in a different color. Then the forums would be more interesting to look at.
