I dont think that works either.
Example:
Zomm A attacks on tick 3, ticks up to 4, opponent rolls no successes so Zomm ticks down to three, THEN he ticks one up at the end of his turn as you normally do at the end of your turn, effectively leaving him at tick 4 just the same as if he had attacked normally.
I love these kind of things, but I think we need to get further outside the box than this. :)
