Gain Control, How does it work?

    Question as above guys.
Does gain control last for just one turn? or for as long as the card is in play?
this has caused some confusion for me and any help would be appreciated.

    thanks in advance.

Re: Gain Control, How does it work?

Gaining control lasts for as long as the modifier specifies. If the card says for 1 turn, then it lasts one turn. If it says until the card used to gain control leaves play, then you control it until that card leaves play. If it as attachment that gains control of the ally, then you control the ally until the attachment is destroyed.

Indefinite times are until the ally is destroyed, like allies taken via Ishanah's effect.

    Basically, go by the card.

i thought so but how does ethereal plunderer's ability work then?
"when he leaves play gain control of target equipment"
    So is this permanent?

Re: Gain Control, How does it work?

Yup, it doesn't specify a duration, and it can't be active while it is in play, so it is permanent.
