unable to edit forum account email address?

whenever i log in and go to my profile page, clicking the link to change my email address leads me to a 404 error so i can not change the email and get my email notifications of replies.
has anyone else experienced this problem or found a workaround?

The email you're trying to change to might already be in use? Send me an email at player@upperdeck.com with your account name and requested new email and I'll check/take care of it.
