In my search about player registration I linked to a post on this part of the forum from 2006 where it was discussed to possibly make online player registration possible, instead of always having to mail the forms. Common complaints being that it takes ages for a player to show up in the ratings and rankings.
But for some reason I couldn't find the thread anymore. I recently took all the LV1 tests with the idea of getting a little competitive play going in my area, and hope to quickly take LV2 tests on all 4 subjects in order to provide maximal service in doing so. We have to go out of our way to find a shop to play, and I didn't think there was much to be done about that until I learned there ARE actually quite a few players in the area, and a few more that are interested.
So I wanted to set up a program, starting with inviting several good players from around my country, all the players from the area and all the new folks who are interested, during the YGO summer season, and start off with a Demo, and then a tournament.
If, however (I still need to receive the registration cards) it takes three months after registration to show up in the ratings, that isn't exactly conducive to getting more players involved. Especially since another person I know would like to register and take the LV1 tests as well, so we can alternate organizing and playing. If that person doesn't receive confirmation of registration for months, it will be hard to achieve in the optimal time-frame.
So I just wanted to ask if since that post I referred too (2006), any advances had been made. Either with registering players online, or getting them set up in ratings and rankings and registration confirmation faster using the old method ?
Thank you for your time.
