    player arriving late -minis

    In the game miniatures:

A TO can accept a player arriving late?

    How long can I expect?

How many minutes is the tolerance to give the round 1 loss?

    Thanks

I don't think there's anything unique to the minis game that would prevent you from accepting late players. You can do it for all other games. But, they would take a round 1 loss if they weren't ready to go by 3 minutes after the round started.

    Re: player arriving late -minis

Most TOs announce when Registration is closing so they can get the tournament started. Occasionally if pairings have not been posted, they will let some one register late without the loss, but after the first round pairings are printed/posted anyone registering would be entering the tournament with a round 1 loss.

So it is really up to the TO as to how close to on time s/he wants to start the tournament. In smaller tournaments I have known TO's to wait 10-20 minutes for people that called saying they were in route. But larger events almost always want to start on time because they will take longer to complete.
