Aiming attacks greater than defense values

Looked through the comp rules and this isn't explained...

When attacking a zone with multiple heroes in it, can I aim attacks at one hero only even if I'm attacking with power greater than that single character's defense value?

I.E: I control two 2/2 heroes, my opponent attacks with 5 power. Can he direct all damage at one hero only?

    Thanks

    Yep

Please Note: Just because you have 2 sand snakes in combat doesn't mean your opponent has to KO them both. If you have Omeed and Dark Pharaoh for example, and your opponent has 7 attacks, they can aim all 7 at Omeed and 0 at Dark Pharaoh. That way you only get to draw 1 card, or only return 1 hero to your hand because of Sneaky Retreat. You have to play all your combat actions before attacks are aimed.
