    Just Curious....

I noticed when I was looking through the information about the Shonen in Seatle that the all powerful Franklin Debrito competed in the event as a player.  Now I have to ask....

Frank.  Could we have an idea of what you were running?  Deck List maybe?

I'm betting your were running some sort of anti meta with main deck Vanity Fiends.  I what do you guys think?

    Re: Just Curious....

Thanks to Frank for sticking in there for all 9 rounds, finishing with a 5-4 record, which is a winning record, by the way.

He could have been running a not-quite-there Tele-Dad, Lightsworn, GB, Zombie or something completely different....I'd bet on something different.

I do find playing competively every now and then helps me as a judge understand certain decks better and reinforces why I will always be a better judge than player.

Team Duel report from SJC Seattle

According to HJ Jerome McHale, no full on dediacted burn deck has won  a team duel at a major event, that he knows of.  That is not to say that none have, just that he was not aware of any.

Well I am here to report, that at SJC Seattle Team Paradox (my team) won 5 - 0 with just such a deck.

There were 11 teams with a representation of most of the major deck types, including Tele-DAD, Lightsworn, Samurai and Simochi Burn (Light Sworn and tele-DAD were the most predominant).

2 times during the 5 rounds, when we went first, we won before their Player B even got a turn. 5 times we won on the player B's first draw phase.  Of the 5 matches we won 2-0 in 2 of them and 3 had to go to a 3rd game after 1-1.

The longest game we played was game 1 of match 1 when their player A was the Samurai deck and starts off with Zanji, Special Summoned Grandmaster and the Special Summoned Great Shogun.  We won, but it was a long hard fought duel and was extremley close.
