    Dragon's Breath vs Blademistress Lyss

    Blademistress: (BM)

When an opposing hero or ally deals damage to Lyss, ready up to that many of your resources.

    Dragon's Breath: (DB)

    Fire Hero Required
Your hero deals 3 fire damage divided as you choose to any number of target heroes and/or allies. A character dealt damage this way loses all powers this turn.

So i had a disagreement with what happens when DB targets BM. I believed that BM's effect would not trigger as DB resolves as a whole card and applies both its damage and lose power effect at the same time. Another judge disagreed and said it still triggers as there is a period between the two effects. Now i ended conceading the point as i could understand why it looked correct but at the same time i don't like the idea of "trigger modifiers" occurring between periods. i always believed it was different paragraphs  that seperated effects and that periods simply were used for proper english.

So could someone maybe explain why the effect should trigger in between a period and more text?

    thanks for your time,

    Alex

You process the text on the card in the order as it appears. Triggered powers can trigger in the middle of resolving a link. As soon as the damage is delt it triggers which is before the powers are lost.

Additionally, even if the damage and power loss occured at the same time, her power would still trigger due to 703.3.
    CR v2.01:
If a triggered power appears or disappears at the same time as the trigger event it’s watching for, it triggers.
