Howdy folks, just got my WoWTCG RK, TO, and Specialist certs this week, and as I'm a Linux user I was having some trouble getting MANTIS to run (Wine won't run it, even with every workaround I could find). I very much wanted to have it running (since, you know, it's impossible to sanction events without it) and this is what I finally ended up doing:
- Download Sun VirtualBox from here and install it.
- Install a copy of Windows XP on a VirtualBox Guest machine.
- Install the .NET framework 1.1 from here on your VirtualBox Guest machine.
- Install and run MANTIS using VirtualBox.
This works more or less perfectly, with the drawback that you will need a Windows XP CD and corresponding Windows XP CD-key to use this solution. I'm still working on a way to get MANTIS running under just Wine; I'll keep you all posted.
