Re: Important Announcement: Forbidden & Limited List Changes
Rathbane, first, welcome to the forums; and second: please reset the font-size to normal (3) before posting your post... it really gets annoying having to scroll through alot for a single paragraph that should easily fit on-screen at once.
Thank you very much, Rathbane, and I hope you enjoy your stay upon these forums. Once again, Welcome.

Re: Important Announcement: Forbidden & Limited List Changes
1st off I reside in Lakewood,,how's that for being a small world..lol
Now onto my ranting about Lightsworn set. I've had the opportunity to play this set and against it online well in advance of it's release. Can we say the theme here is special summon swarm OTK..lol . So here's my prediction. I see lots of abuse with this deck type. Money spent aquiring the obligatory 3 Judgement dragons. Then as a new set comes out again another emergency ban. So by all means lets run this deck theme into the dirt as along as we can.
p.s. I see Synchro monsters on the horizon..

Re: Important Announcement: Forbidden & Limited List Changes
The question has been asked repeatedly and I don't like seeing it ignored:
When will the yugioh-card.com website be updated to reflect the changes? Soon, I hope, considering the changes are supposed to go into effect tomorrow.

Re: Important Announcement: Forbidden & Limited List Changes
Whilst i appreciate the question needs answering, as far as i can tell nobody is "Ignoring" it. unfortunately, the only people who will be able to give you an answer are people that are responsible for maintaining that site. Unless you want a raft of people simply replying with "I don't know" then you'll just have to be a little patient

Re: Important Announcement: Forbidden & Limited List Changes
1737293: with exams in the upcoming month I can be as good a players as it gets, I still won't have time to adapt to the banned list. It's a miracle that I managed to find enough time to actually compete at nationals.
And as you guessed correctly earlier, I was going to bring an FTK deck focussed around dimension fusion. So you can see that I will have to come up with an entirely new deck.
Then, as a comment on your bashing of people who create and use such decks: running those decks takes practice, they're not exactly that simple to just put them together and start FTK'ing everyone. And contrary to your belief that those decks are netdecked for the full 100%, I had replaced a significant ammount of cards from it to increase it's utility and consistency. The FTK remained more or less the same but how I obtained it differed greatly from any match report / decklist I've ever seen. I feel I'm genuily in my right when I decided to take an own creation to the nationals I worked to qualify for.
It's simply irresponsible of UDE to announce changes and enforce them 2/3 days after when they know big tournaments are going to be held. I just hope they won't punish people who show up with an illigal deck to much because really, it wouldn't be their fault.
I knew it. No one with a decent deck or skill would defend a blatant FTK like this with such vigor. It doesn't take practice. I built the deck the day after Diaz came 2nd, played around with it for 3 hours and I had it figured out. Like most FTK's, the thing pilots itself and most decisions have already been made for you, the only practice it takes is the first hour, figuring out when you have multiple options, which to use first. That's it. Then you are ready to start lucksacking people. Win the roll and don't run into any snags like an all monster hand or 5 draw 2 cards with nothing to feed them, and you win. Takes no skill, doesn't really matter if your opponent is good.
But here's the kicker, in a format where people expect others to show up with these lucksack decks, sidedecks are made. But wait, its an FTK, it will FTK about 60% of the time. So sidedeck all you want, this deck will win about 45-50% minimum anyway. Thing is, when idiots like that start getting lucky against good players, they take them out of contention. but because in a 10 round event you will come across at least three people who will have their neko mane, crow, oppression and what not on turn one, you don't even have a shot at Top 8/16. So all you are doing by taking a deck like that is eliminating skillful players from contention, with no more reward to you than winning 6-7 rounds instead of 3-4 in a 10 round event.
And there isn't a whole lot you can do different in these builds, so don't even get started on "they're not all the same". They're the same in every card that counts. And if you really want to prove me wrong, then just play it with one card difference ... No dimension fusion.

Re: Important Announcement: Forbidden & Limited List Changes
Dan: This Saturday the Swiss/German Nationals take place. Please update the current lists immediately to prevent confusion there as far as possible: Lots of Swiss/German National TCG site threads are linked to your official lists and it would be helpful not to hear 100 times "There were no changes on the official UDE restricted lists since March 1" from the players this Saturday.
Regards, Beat Mattle

Patience is a virtue. Just not one of mine. ![Wink [;)]](/community/emoticons/emotion-5.gif)
The "people... responsible for maintaining that site." Isn't that Upperdeck?
I'm just not looking forward to seeing how this will effect the local tournament this weekend. On the one hand, I don't want to show up with an illegal deck. On the other hand, if no one else is aware of the changes, then I'd hate to show up with a handicap by playing a legal deck and facing opponents armed with the old OTK's of yesterday. (Hey! Almost literally!)
No, I didn't need a raft of people. (You have a nice way with words, by the way.) I just wanted to see somebody acknowledge that the question had been asked, you know? It seemed as though most people were just blowing it off. As if to say: We know about the change, and that's all that matters. And the poor... nubs, I guess... who only go by what they see on the site their structure-deck rulebooks directed them to? Well, they're just out of luck.
Yes, I realize nobody actually said that. It was just the impression I was getting from the lack of acknowledgment to the question. Am I way off-base by getting that impression? Maybe. It's very late and I'm not thinking clearly.
Those two thoughts aren't really related, by the way. It being very late has nothing to do with my not thinking clearly. Thank you very much for not glossing over the question. And now, I hope someone else will be able to answer it.

Yeah I know Rathbane, he's prone to these unintelligent outbursts (including Caps lock, Oversized font), he's a normal member on a game I go to and whenever he doesn't get his way, he's amongst the groups to need a mute. On that end, this kills 95% of FTKs, hurts 75% of OTKs, and now makes it easier to run Mirror Force and Sakus/Bottomlesses. I say the meta is a lot more bareable now.

Re: Important Announcement: Forbidden & Limited List Changes
I
think the changes well, sometimes they go in the right direction. I
would have preferred a more far-reaching change. For example: Limited Dark Armed Dragon Allure of Darkness
In general the game has slowed down, since they are not the rule may be that after 5 minutes, most matches are over. This translation is Googel.

For once a Spanish/Brazilian hit a bingo (personal experience folks >_>). At least now most duels will require skill and we'll see more specialized tech seeing as there will be so many Tier 1s you can't devote sides for one.

Re: Important Announcement: Forbidden & Limited List Changes
I'm surprised to see someone suggest that DAD needs limiting. If you look at the decks and read the match reports, 90% of the time DAD is merely the set up for the return/fusion. Yes DAD is a good card, and will most likely get restricted come sept 1st, but in no way is it a card that is ruining the format.

It's a majority of the reason that Mirror Force lost popularity :S. Now at least we'll be worrying more about DAD than the return.

Re: Important Announcement: Forbidden & Limited List Changes
In my oppinion Dimension Fusion didn't need to be banned, Spell Economics should have been the one to go. There are still ways around Dimension Fusion and DMoC.
 YGO RK 1, PM 1, &TO 1 (yay!) D.D.Deck (suggestions?)

Oh Really? Economics only saw use in ONE Deck. D.Fusion saw use in about 7 different Tier 1-1.5 builds. D.Fusion caused the OTK, not the Economics. Why Punish a Support card when the card making it possible is the problem.
