Or were you planning to act high and mighty cause you had a deck that basically draw itself out by the end of your first main phase, giving you WHATEVER you needed and providing an Easy OTK?

Face it, there was a logical reason behind these changes, but nubs who don't notice being able to draw your whole deck in a turn and OTK just as easily won't understand it.

    I agree,

First of you guys screw up a format. Then you make last minute changes that screw up people's preparations to their countries' nationals.

enforcing these changes right before nationals punishes those players who thouroughly prepared for nationals.

Don't get me wrong, the changes you chose to make are good but the timing is horrible.

I hope that the people who bought an extremely expensive deck (expensive through UDE's marketing strategies) and who are now left without one give you the proper response.

I genuily hope these changes will be ignored 'till after nationals.

Hate to burst your bubble, they won't be ignored. They WILL have Judges at each nats INFORMED of these changes.

And oh yeah, slight news flash: A UDE official on Metagame said they'd be changing the list anyhow from the very day it was released to the US. This is nothing new to those who KNEW they were going to mid-list ban.

Ever stop to freaking think the "Babies" were Right from the beginning and simply saw what UDE didn't way ahead of time?

That's the dumbest thing I ever heard. The better players will be able to better adapt to the change, which only increases the chance of the most skilled person winning nationals - as it should be. The timing of this, while sad for some, is beneficial for the quality of the game.

Don't forget, the national champion goes to worlds ... where they will have a different banlist ... Makes sense to send the best player who can best adapt to those changes, don't you think ? Or would you rather a lucksack with an FTK deck shows up and embarasses your country when he can't use his allures ?

Re: Important Announcement: Forbidden & Limited List Changes

Whether they'll be enforced or not, I still hope they'll be ignored.
I'm very well aware that this will probably not be the case but that's why it's called hope and not a certainty.

Furthermore, I acknowledged their changes as good. I'm refering to their timing as being horrible.
I think you can count the people who didn't expect a mid-banned list on one hand and sry to burst your bubble, but I'm not one of them.

    the changes are good,
    the timing is horrible,
people who prepared are punished by UDE

Re: Important Announcement: Forbidden & Limited List Changes

I agree with what you are saying (although winner at nationals will be sent to european championships first which has the same banned list) although you are forgetting one thing:

Yes the more skilled players will be better able to adapt but only if they have the time for it.

I personally don't have the time to build, test, and perhaps collect some of the cards needed for a deck that could be a serious contestant at a national tournament.
I had built, tested and collected for a deck and had carefully planned my preparation for nationals.
If UDE decides to change the format then I think that I and all others like me deserve the time they need to adapt to them
Regardless of whether I can be considered "a good player", I won't be able to play any role in the upcoming tournament simply because UDE did not give me enough time to prepare.

That's why I think these changes come at a bad time.

Altough I see your points I'm sure that UDE will NOT set another date for this list:

The changes made by UDE are on several TCG pages worldwide now and have already been sent to several TO and Judges. If UDE would choose another date for the new list (after the Nationals) this would end in a fatal chaos, especially for the German/Swiss Nationals this weekend.

Re: Important Announcement: Forbidden & Limited List Changes

Frankly Katoma, I find that posting offensive.  It was perfectly legal for anyone to use that deck - no-one was acting "high and mighty"...if you were lucky enough to use it good for you.

Secondly, the emergency ban list hardly affects a players opportunity to draw quickly into their deck - you are still entitled to use 3 D Draws, 2 Allures and 3 Trade ins.

The ban list isn't focussing on disabling draw power - its focussing on preventing easy OTKs with D Fusion and Return.

Re: Important Announcement: Forbidden & Limited List Changes

These changes crippled almost all of the decks that focused on DAD return for the win. Just take a look at the last Shonen Jump champsions and see what decks had these cards in them to their maximum. The entire Shadowpriest OTK combo is dead, DAD Return has now slowed to almost a standstill seeing how you'll have to set RFtDD in order to use it and it gives your opponent a chance to counter. Frankly these changes made it so we can now play things other then DAD return and actually have a chance of winning. Let's just see what happens at the next Shonen Jump shall we.

Re: Important Announcement: Forbidden & Limited List Changes

I personally think that these changes in the format are an amazing chance to revive some originality and talent in a game that could've used some more.  I do however agree that the timing was bad, and think this list should have been dropped earlier to allow qualified players ample time to make decisions on the deck they are going to run at their respective nationals.  I do agree that the most skilled players will be able to adapt to the changes on the fly, but in the interest of fairness more time should've been given.

    Just my humble opinion.

Re: Important Announcement: Forbidden & Limited List Changes

Why does no one mention that these changes come right after the Relase of LODT. These changes are mostly here to push people towards LODT, so more money can be made.
Banlist doesn't affect me much and I am happy with these changes, despite the profit that will be seen from people buying LODT cards.
