Stay positive.  Note that they declined to correct it several years ago, but through the efforts of Simon Key and others, we have not only maintained it, but updated it.

If the head judges are consistent, we all win, and the HJs I know all use the unofficial guide.

Also, I was told by BryanGibbons that if I ever wanted to take my Level 2 RK test, I would need to know the "Unofficial" Damage Step Guide by heart...

hence the 'addition' of a new sub step. you know, something inbetween step 4 and 5 ( which would be sub step 5 now, 5 would be 6, 6 would be 7)....just an idea

the guide is just that, a guide. it is not the say all, end all to the battle phase. 

konami never comes up with stuff off the norm...

of course, im really just arguing ( debating) the point for arguements sake....you know, both points of view...

You know, it would have been a lot easier if RDA has just been errata'ed to something like "If this card attacked a Defense Position monster and destroyed it as a result of battle, destroy all of your opponent's Defense Position monsters. Etc."

To me, it seems like RDA's text reminds me a lot like Drillroid except its effect occurs after damage calculation. I'd still want to believe that the defense position RDA would still be protected by Stardust's effect. How I see it is that it would be like Drillroid vs a defense monster and Stardust Dragon. Drillroid would still have declared an attack against the defense position monster, it's just that its effect will get negated and then have Drillroid get destroyed.

at the least sub step 5 and then the 'before flip effects' would be wrong, etc...

maybe at the beginning of sub step 5 would be more accutate, but then officially there is no sub step five, so how would you word that?
