I am going to SJC Charlotte. And I too will be running GB. It is going to be a lot or mirror matches.

That's what I'm hoping for. Against Lightsworn and Tele-DAD, you have to think hard and get completely aggressive. Against the mirror matches, you can kinda goof around and have fun. I enjoy the fun games.

Re: Update: The deck everyone loves to hate
Mirror matches are always fun. I like the build, very impressive. Your right on the topic I do not like GB they are annoying, lol. But really the one reason I dislike the set is because all the people who run them at my local tournament are snotty noobs who have mucho $$$$. I've shut up a few of them with my Dark Magician Deck, lol. It's strange though a lot of people under-estimate poor Dark Magician. Anyways back on topic....*runs towards pile of burning GB and add more GB to fuel the fire.* **Preforms an interpreted dance celebrating the end of GB's*** lol

Lol. That's generally how it is over here with Tele-DAD. Just noobs with money. Only a handful of the players that have the deck can actually do well with it.
Thankfully, with Heraklinos reprinted as a Super Rare, it doesn't require much money to run the GB deck. The rarest cards now are the Test Tigers, Prismas, and Solemns.

Re: Update: The deck everyone loves to hate
I've noticed the more I've been going to the weekly tournament that the older more experienced players who've acquired their cards the hard way, meaning they either bought packs, traded cards or saved up their money to get the cards they want, don't talk a lot of trash vs. the younger kids/noobs(who use the term broken a lot. lol) who do more talking. I mean just last week some kid at the card shop I go to every weekend spent $300 on really bad Monarch build. The kid just wanted to get some Monarchs(Zaborg,Thestalos, Raiza, and Mobius)+a couple of Dark Bribes, Solemn Judgments, Mirror Force, Allures, GK Spies, Stratos, Malicious, etc. Basically he bought all of the nice stuff but failed to see that he needed to think before he bought. Even the owner told him that the way he built the deck was bad but the kid didn't seem to care. The kid was about 14-15yrs old. Also I've notcied that kids want the really good cards through trades but offer really bad trading material(even though they have money to aquire better cards for trades.) I'm not saying that noobs/kids are bad, I was a kid once and noob few years ago but I think as Duelist you should have some form of ediquette and at least show some respect to those who expereinced duelist because you can learn from them. Of course this is what I beleive in and this is just my opinion, also my apologies if I got of topic or offended anyone. ***Seeing how GB decks are not requiring a lot $$$ hopefully Tele-Dad and some other deck types go down as well.(I just want Dark Red Enchanter to drop below $20 lol)

Re: Update: The deck everyone loves to hate
I understand how you feel. I once thought I was once invincible. And I admit, to various people, I can come off as an a**hole because of my accomplishments (Top 4 last weekend in Louisville Regionals, Top 8 yesterday in Knoxville Regionals, both with the same decklist I posted). But the way I accomplished these goals is that I focused and thought hard about my deck and how the other top meta decks work. Just because you have all the cards needed to run the latest winning SJC deck, doesn't mean you're going to meet the same success. Most people tend to be a slacker and choose not to do their homework. The truth is, you can't afford to do that if you want to succeed. It's the same reason why I've managed to do well in Regionals and locals. I do my homework more than other duelists, and more often a lot of them blame the deck as per the reason I win. While it's true that the deck is powerful, it's the knowledge I possess and the experience wielding it that give me numerous successes. Not to sound like a cliche, but the deck is only like a sword by your side. It can be powerful, but without proper training and experience in battle, it might as well be a stick.
I used to think I was invincible, but I learned to keep quiet and be humble. The same should be practiced by a lot of people. Despite the fact that I'm pretty strong, I know I have a long way to go to reach my goal. I'm constantly learning and I tend to help those who struggle when I find I have a spare moment. I tend to share my experience and wisdom with other duelists. I second your opinion as I feel the same way.
Have you checked ebay? I've seen them sell on there for $12-15.

Re: Update: The deck everyone loves to hate
Yesterday at the tournament I went to I faced a few players who shared similar values that I believe in and then you got your cocky/picky players. One of them told me this and I quote, "If your using that Spellcaster Deck I will not duel you, I only want to play good players," I told him this which shut him up for the rest of the day(well at least with me). "Are you saying that I'm not a good player? What's the matter? Are you afraid of losing?Even the people who you think that are bad players are great players in their right, your ignorance is what blinds and holds you back form going far in this game, If you truly wish to prove me wrong then place your pride on your on the line and duel". He agreed to duel me in a match duel and using my Dark Red Enchanter Deck(while using other cards as subs for some cards I yet to acquire) I had him on the ropes and he did the same with me. He used a Tele-DAD deck. Although I lost I feel like I got him to understand somewhat the point I was trying to make. I always try to do my homework on the new cards/deck types ever since I took a break from playing for bout a year. It does help a lot as well that I have the experience as well(of course since I just recently been going to tournaments I don't have the tournament experience like others). Also thanks for pointing out E-bay for Dark Red Enchanter. I'm considering to buy one but I'm kinda iffy on the seller. lol

Re: Update: The deck everyone loves to hate
Right. It's as they say, "you can't judge a book by its cover."
I'll admit, I personally think I just got to become a good player just a few weeks ago. I mean I was good (decent) for the past two years (when I actually wanted to become good at the game instead of just goofing around), but I always wanted to become stronger. Even though it helps to use a top meta deck, I've learned so much, especially how to play conservatively.
And yeah, experience counts for a lot. It's like when I started running Gladiator Beasts about 3 months ago. Sure, I understood how the deck work, the basic ins and outs. But without the proper knowledge as per how to make a comeback against your opponent, you'll be clueless and you won't be able win. Although the knowledge you just learned will help you out in the long run. That's typically the problem I find with a lot of duelists at regionals. Usually, they choose to build a top tier deck, play a few rounds and head straight into a Regional or SJC without understanding every in and out of the deck. The only thing on their side is the luck factor. And most likely, their luck won't get them to the top tables like they want. Even now, I've top 4'ed at the Louisville Regional and top 8'ed at the Knoxville Regional last weekend. Then the next day went 2-2 at the local. What Sunday told me is that I need to readjust my play style and my decklist before SJC Charlotte if I want to reach the top 16.

Re: Update: The deck everyone loves to hate
Same here back in high school I used to be considered on of the few good players back then but since I stopped playing when I entered college and work and what not, I guess I lost some of my touch but I enjoy the struggle at tournaments because I'm basically climbing the ladder to the top. I'm actually looking forward to the next sneak preview because of the tournament they'll be hosting. As of right now my goal is to complete my deck and compete in the tournament.

Re: Update: The deck everyone loves to hate
I was decent back in high school. Once I got into college and started working, surprisingly, I started getting better. The only thing that weighed me down was my girlfriend at the time.
So I went from being a loser with a girlfriend to a winner without a girlfriend.
Either way, I'm a loser. Lol.
