Heck Im game... The lack of a foil Thousand Eyes Idol and NS Glow Moss is a sore spot in my shiny collection binder.
With that being said - even if the rumors were true, I would be inclined to think that all "ghost" rare copies will have the following text on them even if they were printed in English and/or by UDE:
This card cannot be used in an official duel.
TBH, If the SJC prize cards were a tournament legal limited edition Ghost Rare printing of any one card on the player's deck list, Im sure we would see attendance at such events double (if not triple).
Attendance would increase even further if said card was a Unique rarity only available at such events.
The same would apply to attendance at regional-level and national-level events if such a prize was offered at the NATs, with the grand prize being the afformentioned Ghost/Unique rare version of a players deck.
Such a prize would draw far more attention than the current method of SJC / WC prize cards, even if it does lower the value of any given card given the likelihood of a player choosing the same card(s) multiple times.
How they would be able to ship such a card without risk of it getting stolen in the mail is another story.
No one's been able to take me seriously... But that will change when I beat you at a children's card game.
