In most situations, you would be correct - however given itchy trigger fingers, many players activate card effects prematurely, resulting in a sub-optimal result.
In addition, perhaps "Judgment Dragon" was the wrong choice of monster to use in my example.
Instead of "Judgment Dragon", lets assume that Player A was Special Summoning "Jinzo" or "Uria, Lord of Searing Flames" - thereby forcing Player B into activating "Secret Barrel" prematurely.
Lets also assume that the Life Points for both players are 1100 and 2000 respectively; and that Player B has "Spirit Reaper" in face-up defense position.
Lets also assume that Player A has not-yet activated "Brain Control" or "Premature Burial" this duel, and has "Evil Hero - Malicious Edge" currently residing in their graveyard.
Now, in this situation - 200 LP is the difference between Player A being able to activate either of those card effects or being stuck with two dead cards in their hand / deck / field which have the power of winning him the duel
