So, if a banned/suspended player wants to play

First, how can I confirm if a player is banned/suspended?  Still no reply from the penaltycommittee email I found.

Second, I ask because I suspect a suspected banned player may try to show up at Realms.  Why do I suspect he was banned?  He was found guilty of bribery during a qualifier at NACC.  I expect such a thing would earn a suspension/ban. Does it not?

Third, it's relevant because this dude lives only a few hours' drive from the upcoming Florida realms location and has a moderate community of players last I heard, and I expect them to make the trip.

Insight would be appreciated. Answers would be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers!

To your first question: On the botom of this forum's root page you will find a link to the suspended players list. (Or just use this one: http://entertainment.upperdeck.com/community/files/1769949/download.aspx)

To your second question: Bribery falls under cheating (Manipulating Match Outcome) and gets one disqualified from a tournament. I'm not sure if it would also warrant a suspension...

My advice: Just check the list ;)

That list is where I got the email for the penalty committee, but his name isnt there. In fact, the list looks like it's not been updated in over 4 months or so, leaving me in this realm of wondering.

Just because you get DQed for one mistake doesnt meen youll get banned. Thats up to the UD tournament commisioner. It depends on the whole record and what they did, to determine if they should be banned. Youll find that they can be forgiving for an honest mistake that players admit to.

Re: So, if a banned/suspended player wants to play

Okay, so the question is, "How do I find out if he's been banned?" This is asked because the Suspended List looks like it hasn't been updated since the second week of June.

His first name I know; his last name I know not.  If I can confirm the date or circumstances under which he was suspended and his home location, I can deduce he's guilty if he shows up.  If he figures out that a new UDE # under his first name and a fictitious last could get him into events, what steps can be taken?

This wasn't an honest mistake. He bribed an opponent in an effort to qualify for NACC during the last round of the last chance qualifier, and when he later won the game, his opponent brought it up. A witness came forward at that time (perhaps you've heard of this story by now), and later the briber admitted to the charges.

All of this could fall directly into Erik Mock's lap, and while I'd be happy to leave this conversation in his hands, my efforts here are to better understand player management problems of this caliber.

Thank you for your continued efforts to help me understand.

    Cheers!

This is being looked into by the committee and will be addressed appropriately when they have finished.

Re: So, if a banned/suspended player wants to play

Thank you very much, Simon.  I didn't suspect it was still under review.

I hope my query impresses upon them the urgent need to arrive at a conclusion before Realms, and more specifically, I hope they do reach a conclusion before Realms.

    I appreciate the committee's efforts.

    Cheers!

Just because the list hasn't been updated in a while doesn't necessarily mean it's not currently accurate.

Nor does it guarantee that it is currently accurate.  With all due respect to everyone involved, the fact that it doesn't appear maintained is what inspired me to pose these questions.

    Cheers!

EDIT: Having received a communication from the Penalty Committee, I now understand why they've not finished yet.  I do appreciate the responses to my query.

Thank you for your attention in this matter.
