    Demise of Geartown

I was looking at the SJC Tulsa on metagame and saw that someone was using a Geartown deck so I'm trying it out as well....Here it is.....:

    Monsters: 21

    x3 Demise

    x3 Manju

    x2 Insect Knight

    x2 Doom Dozer

    x2 Ancient Gear Gadjitron Dragon

    x2 Sonic Bird

    x2 Senju

    x2 Neo Bug

    x1 Breaker

    x1 Cyber Dragon

    x1 Sangan

    Spells: 14

    x3 Enemy Controller

    x2 Geartown

    x2 End of the World

    x2 Creature Swap

    x1 Advanced Ritual Art

    x1 Brain Control

    x1 Heavy Storm

    x1 Monster Reborn

    x1 Megamorph

    Traps: 5

    x3 Royal Decree

    x1 Mirror Force

    x1 Torrential Tribute

The deck is at 40 cards......It runs really well......I mean really well......Gadjitron Dragon has many uses you can use it after you destroy Geartown with Demise or  you can use it for Demise summoning food. It can be a FTK or OTK with either the old Demise OTK or if you get Geartown and the old Demise OTK......Theres alot of potential in this deck I think and I hope that you can comment on this and r/f it for me thank you....

    Re: Demise of Geartown

When I saw the deck, I did what I usually do when I see a deck I really like the looks of, which is proxy it up. I have to say, I was very impressed. The deck could pull off the OTK very consistently. Here are my changes:

    -1 Neo Bug
    -1 Cyber Dragon
    -1 Breaker
    -3 Enemy Controller
    -2 Creature Swap

All of these are taken out because they don't really add to the combo at all, with the exception of Neo Bug, which I am replacing with a 3rd copy of Insect Knight, pretty much just because there's no reason not to have that extra attack power.

+1 Metal Armored Bug (Trade-In fuel and can be brought back with Reborn after being sent with ARA to help attack for game)
+1 Sonic Bird (With only one copy of ARA, 3 of him is neccesary)
+2 Great Maju Garzett (has been used to replace Metamorphosis in Demise decks since it was banned)
    +1 Insect Knight (see above)
+2 Trade-In (to discard all those dead Level 8 monsters and to give the deck a draw engine)
+1 Gravity Bind (helps hoard off attacks, and will be destroyed by Demise when he comes out)

I definitely see potential in this deck.

    Hope this helps.

    Re: Demise of Geartown

Thank you very much on what you said about this deck.....I can see why with alot of your changes but the x2 Creature Swaps have actually helped me out alot with this deck....I'm actually going to be taking this deck to some Shonen Jumps and see how it does right now at the locals I go to it's the #1 deck for the last 3 weeks. Thats why I decided to post it......If anybody does use this deck at a Shonen or anywhere else please at least be man or woman enough to give me some credit on it, even if you do make changes to it.....That would be much appreciated. Anyway once again thank you and i'm gonna try it out like the way you have it and see which fits my style more.........Please if you could tell me if your gonna take it to a premier event so I can catch up with you and see how it works and what could make it better......With this deck i'm pretty much trying to tell people hey you don't have to have DAD to make an awesome deck.......Anyway if anyone else has any comments please post them. Thank you very much

    Re: Demise of Geartown

I've been experimenting with the deck some more since my last post, and the big problem, as it is with most combo decks, is dead draws. I've made a few more changes to help this:

    • With 3 Sonic Bird, 2 copies of End of the World seems like too many.
    • Since Geartown Special Summons from the deck, hand or Graveyard, only one copy of the Dragon is neccesary.
    • The only tribute monsters in the deck (besides Metal Armor Bug) are the two Great Maju Garzett, and we want to save those for the combo. No need for Brain Control.
So that leaves us with 3 open spaces. We need a way to get rid of the Normal Monsters once we've drawn them. Common Charity is the perfect solution, as it not only puts drawn Normal Monsters to good use, it also adds more draw power to the deck.

We'll also add a 3rd copy of Senju in an attempt to pull off the combo as quickly as possible.

    So that means:

    -1 End of the World
    -1 Ancient Gear Gadjiltron Dragon
    -1 Brain Control

    +1 Senju
    +2 Common Charity

    The cake is a lie!

    Re: Demise of Geartown

I get what your sayin about the dead draws.......But really you can't help that by doing anything.......Thats why I didn't have Metal Armored Bug in the first one and acouple of your other changes......I tried both your changes and my original......I found out that the original was all round more consistant.......Mainly because the only dead things in my hand were if I drew Dragon without Geartown or Demise without any searcher or ritual spell in hand.......But usually I can handle that and play around it........Since there wasn't so much of a dead draw sernario because of most of the low level high atk monsters.......So to me and my playstyle I still like the original.....I'm not saying your changes are good but your trying to make the deck a 100% OTK........I'm not trying to do that I'm just trying to make a deck that can beat any of the main deck choices out there......You get what i'm saying........Now don't stop with your mission to make this deck an OTK but thats not really what I'm shootin for.......I hope you do make this deck an fast OTK but if not then I know my deck can actually kick some butt.

    Re: Demise of Geartown

Hey Iceman, I was fishing the deck and majority of the time I get OTK but I do run into dead draws sometimes. Overall, I see if there is anything to add to the deck.

    Re: Demise of Geartown

What exactly are your dead draws?????Because like I said before mine are usually taken care of after about 2-3 turns.......So how did you do with the deck at any tournaments that you went to Axel.

Yeah from the original version that I came up with I'm going to be adding 1 more Dragon and 3 Trade Ins and probably a Pot of Avarice......Right now i'm revamping the deck and will be posting a new thread about it.
