    Final Countdown (Turn Count)

A player in our local is playing a "Final Countdown" deck.

There was some discussion on proper turn count recording.  I am of the opinion that it is both players responsibility to keep track of the turn count and they they need to frequently ( every 3-4 turns ) verify the count with each other.

He ( the FC player)  was using a large 20 sided die to keep track of the turn count. in one game the opponent did not keep track of turn count at all and when the FC player declared a win, the opponent contested turn count and called me over. I ruled that as the FC player was keeping track of turns on his die and that the die was 1 1/2" diameter the count was plaiunly visible. And that it was as much his responsibility to keep track of the count, so I ruled in favor of the FC player.

So, did I handle this one correctly?   For this kind of a deck, what are some other options for keeping track of the turn count, if any?

I think you handled it beautifully.

It is both player's job to keep accurate track of:
    Life Points
    Turn Counts (for effects)
and all of the rest of the Public Knowledge...

    PK is:
    Deck Count
    Extra Deck Count
    Side Deck Count
    Hand Count
    Graveyard Count(s)
    RFP Count(s)
    Field count
    "Active" continuous effects.
"Declared Card" for "Prohibition" or "Cloak and Dagger"

    You handled it very well

I would have advised the FC player (and the opponent) to use marks on a paper or physical tokens (beads, coins) to keep turn count because that die will get accidently knocked over at some point and you'll be pulling out your hair trying to figure out how to repair the game
