    Chain question

Ok if someone plays a quick kill on a stunned character and the opponent plays a plot twist that allows him to recover stunned character. what happens to the quick kill. i would think it would be just wasted but i was told that it wouldnt kick so it would not be used.

    Re: Chain question

To play, discard a Marvel Knights character card unless you discard two character cards.

KO target stunned character with cost 4 or less.

If you play Quick Kill on a stunned character, and your opponent responds with a recovery effect, Quick Kill will be negated since the target is no longer legal, i.e. target stunned character.

If the quick kill is negated will it be returned to the owners hand.

    Re: Chain question

No, it is put into its owner's KO'd pile.

    509.    Negating Effects

509.1    An effect that is negated gets removed from the chain. If a card is representing the effect on the chain, the card is put into its owner’s KO’d pile from the chain.

509.2    If an effect is negated, the entire effect is negated. A player does not get any refunds on any costs he or she paid for an effect that is negated.

    Re: Chain question

marcus daniels lets you pay a resource point and give all masters of evil characters with a cost of 4 or less reinforcement for the turn. if he becomes stunned do they loose reinforcement or does his ability stay in play.

    Re: Chain question

No... The payment effect still applies as normal, because Marcus Daniel already use the resource point (used it in recruit phase right?) BEFORE he become stunned. Characters stunned had  no text abilities or  traits as attck and defense values, also they become blank slates with no affiliation as well... So his ability stay in play until the end of the turn.

What if I pay the resource point and in response my opponent stuns him, does his power still go off.

Marcus Daniels <> Blackout, Darkbringer (MAV-135C)
    Character, 3, Masters of Evil, 4/5, Concealed—Optional
    Reservist ¶
Pay 1 resource point >>> Masters of Evil characters you control with cost 4 or less have reinforcement this turn. Use only if Marcus Daniels is visible.

505.4    Once an effect is on the chain, it exists independently of its source. Removing the source of the effect does not negate the effect. Modifying the source of the effect does not modify the effect.

Paying the cost (1 resource point) is part of adding MD payment effect onto the chain. Once paid for, that effect on the chain is independent of him. After this point, 'doing anything' to MD doesn't affect that payment effect - it will resolve, and when it does a continuous modifier that lasts for the turn is created.

So, yes - once you've paid the resource point, and in response your opponent stuns MD, when his payment effect resolves, MoE character you control with cost 4 or less will have reinforcement for this turn. (They only lose this reinforcement if they lose the MoE affiliation, or are no longer under your control).
